Mary Poppins Day Care believes that all children are naturally eager to learn and that its primary mission is to nurture that innate curiosity as it develops into a lifelong love of learning. Recognizing that play is the vehicle for young children's learning, our leaders create an environment that supports and encourages children's interests, while understanding and utilizing the learning opportunities that abound in a child's daily delight in life. Our young students experience the joy of creating art works and playing with play dough, water, sand and other tactile and sensory materials. The children's social skills bloom, as they learn about sharing, taking turns, and the value of cooperative play. They discover that they are part of a larger world, and that sharing toys and ideas is gratifying. Our Provincially licensed Day Care offers a full day program delivered by qualified Early Childhood Educators providing the highest quality of care. This full day program incorporates a curriculum which focuses on school readiness skills delivered in a safe, caring environment. The Day Care is situated in a beautiful, residential neighbourhood. Part of the grounds is an expansive series of outdoor pathways within a natural green belt that has been set as a sanctuary for environmental exploration. The Mary Poppins Day Care curriculum is designed to both challenge our children and build self-confidence. Each teacher serves as a catalyst, orchestrating exploration, stimulating thoughts and processes, helping define limits and guiding interpersonal relationships. With a maximum capacity of 14 students, each child's needs are met through individual attention. The daily routine provides a comfortable structure for the children. Our carefully planned sequence balances independent activity with small and large group times. Daily Schedule 7:30 am Opening and Free Play Open: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 5:30pm. |
